Hubby lost his pport, help!!!!?

Yeh, i thought of divorce, before anyone suggests it. We travel in one week and the pport office cant help at such short notice. They gave me the number for the spanish emby which is closed til tomorrow morning...so...til then has anyone had the misfortune to be in this position when travelling between uk and spain? If so, did they let you travel? What id. did they let u use etc etc...sensible answers please, im cacking me pants...dont wanna go alone.
