I always love how Muslims don't understand their own religion. They deny that the abrogation verse means what it says and try to obfue the true meaning of the Koran. Yes there are over 100 verses speaking of peace, love and understanding HOWEVER those peaceful verses have been abrogated and are no longer valid for today. Also there is NO time limit on warfare in the Koran, hadith or sunna, war is to be waged until "religion is for Allah alone". The other problem for Muslims is that the Koran is NOT in chronological order, it is embled from longest to shortest sura, and there is no context as the Mecca and Medina verses are intermixed. Mecca suras are the peaceful ones, medina suras are martial, warmongering. hateful and divisive against jews and christians, something Muslims like to deny even exsists. As I have said many times before, if there are so many peaceful and moderate Muslims where is their voice denouncing and negating the way Islam has been framed for the public? Muslims claim that they have no power in changing their religion yet by having Islam defined as violent, bigoted and mysoginistic(sic) they leave themselves open to the derision and scorn from those who they desperately want acceptance.....or do they? it seems that even so-called "moderate" Muslims have no desire to change the perceptions the west has about Islam, and that will only get us deeper into this mess. So please Muslims, bring your religion into the 21st century and DEMAND your ulema reopen the gates of ijtihad and reform Islam!
