My siamese mix doesnt like to be brushed but hes a long hair so i have to brush him...?

I have a Maine Coon with the same attitude problem and I get bit every time. If you haven't already, try different grooming tools. My cat seems to tolerate the steel comb the best because it slides through his fur almost imperceptibly, but every cat is different. I tried rubber bristled brushes, slicker brushes, grooming mits...anything I could find. It helps if you have someone to help you. I have my hubby scratch our cat under the chin and talk to him while I groom him, and then we give him treats afterwards.
